3rd CA Blog

Well better late then never I always say ( well I do now). Anyway this is my 3rd blog and the site I chose to look at or use was www.atpworldtour.com
This is another tennis website but its the official mens tour one so I got the majority of my info off that and it was easier to compose the bios this way. Its a really well put together website much the same as the women's except heavier on the statistics and information but its all useful! To me, its a tad more interactive which is why I find it good. I found out a lot of things I previously didn't know too which is always good! I liked the main home page because it looks so clean and smooth and the site seems so much more intereactive because of it.
That being said I still prefer to use the women's site because I prefer the women's tour but only just! Player scheduals is what they're both missing and its a shame because that's the best way to track where a players going ot be over the course of the year.
I've enjoyed writing these blogs and doing this CA although it was kind of complicated but once you get into the swing of things then its gets easier. Thanks to Peter and the rest of the class for helping me out and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

2nd Website CA Blog

The 2nd site I looked at that was great was a tennis website
www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/ Its really clean and professionall looking. Its the women's tennis assosciations official site which includes rankings, personal profiles, galleries, videos, blogs from players, tournament website links, calenders, links to tennis merchandise sites etc. The thing thats most impressive is that when Sony Ericsson began sponsoring the WTA Tour they completely updated and altered the site to make it more personable and intereactive. Now there's polls on who you think is the best or favourite player, who's going to win tournaments etc., interviews and highlights of players that you can watch againg and again and even live streaming of matches. They also this year have gotten even more personal with the players launching the Are You Looking for a Hero campaign which was a series of ads featuring the top stars of the tour. Now they're showing us the fans what the girls get up to while travelling the world and not playing tennis. When they get a few spare moments do they shop, play video games, favourite cities or foods and what they think about other players. Its made it so much more peronable & interactive that people really get behind their players and support them at tournaments they're in.
They've also gone mobile literally! Now the site is acessible from iPhones and mobiles whereas before it was awfully difficult to use on the go. They can text you results or news of your favourite player. Its for this reason that I like the site so much and wanted to create my own albeit much simpler version of a profile site of a few of my favourite tennis players. Its great to be able to check out their journeys and what they've achieved really quickly. It also helps that they're not bad looking either!

CA for Multimedia Authoring: 1 of my 3 blogs!!!

Ok so we have to make a website, I'm very confused dunno where to begin but I had better start as its Tuesday and the assignments due Thursday!!! How do I make buttons? How do I like create all those thingies? I dunno, I think I'm failing....
Anyway I'll have a crack and I've been looking at various sites and as I'm doing this alone I've been allowed to make a decision in what I show or present for once and I've gone with something I'm good at, and that's tennis!! So tennis is the theme and I need a homepage and 4 pages off this page so they must be linked with clickable buttons (which scares me!)
Here are a few links I've been checking out anyway :

http://www.tennismindgame.com/simple-tennis-strategies.html
1. This is a site that tells you various simple aspects of the game. You can read through quickly and even though I've been playing for 11 years (old) its taught me a few things I've never heard before, but its also a tad dated. However, it is helpful and as I want an information page on the rules and diferent styles of play, I think it will help me.
2. http://templates.entheosweb.com/Tennis.asp
This one is a template website and it doesn't specialise in tennis but it does give me an insight into how to start and create one. It shows what people are looking for in a site and they are pretty impressive I have to say!
3. http://www.easytemplates.com/preview/300109703
This is another template preview but I like it so its being included! Again its got a wonderful polished look and I think I'm gonna try to emulate this cleanliness look and easy to navigate style.
